Today we interview Christian Piñeiro Hermida (SAP Consultant). We hope you can learn about his experience working at our company.
What is your role at Inprosec?
I am an SAP GRC consultant. I collaborate on various client projects, performing different tasks such as reports, deliverables, control reviews, and similar activities.
What would you highlight about your role within the company?
Although SAP security is still somewhat new to me, I am constantly fascinated by the complexity of the GRC module. Digitalizing business processes and managing access have many different applications and can be adapted in many ways to meet clients’ needs and add value to them.
What has Inprosec meant for your professional career?
Inprosec has been my leap into the ICT sector since, until then, I had worked in the hospitality and tourism industry and briefly in the buying and selling of hospitality software. The consulting world is broad and quite demanding, but I still have a long way to go.
How do you manage to balance personal and professional life?
Thanks to the semi-flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely three days a week, it is relatively easy to organize and finish the workday in the mid-afternoon. This leaves enough time to run errands, exercise, or even have a drink before ending the day if you organize yourself a bit.
What do you value most about working at a company like Inprosec?
This company might seem small compared to other well-known consultancies, but the truth is that there are people here who are true professionals in their field and are at a very high level. We also work with sizable companies from all over the world, and the work environment is generally good.
Tell us an anecdote that caught your attention during your time at Inprosec.
A month after joining the company, I saw that I was invited to the Christmas dinner and that there was a bonus waiting for me. Here, the invitation is extended to everyone regardless of whether they have been with the company for years or days, which I think is something worth highlighting.
As an employee of a cybersecurity company, what advice would you give to any entrepreneur starting with their systems?
New technologies are advancing at a dizzying pace, with new ways of performing tasks or processes emerging all the time. The problem is that these advantages apply to both good and bad things. Many times, we think that reading a manual halfway and activating minimal security measures is enough, but there will always be someone willing to take advantage of that negligence and attack your resources, impacting your personal or professional life. It is increasingly important to have the support of professionals who can help you define a secure environment for your company to avoid uncomfortable or unexpected situations.
What are your hobbies after the workday ends?
Mainly training in martial arts (Hapkido), taking walks in the mountains or rural areas, watching series, playing video games, and occasionally going to the movies.
Who do you “nominate” for us to interview next and why?
I nominate Agustina Costa Pesce, who is the latest addition to the Project Manager team and surely has many things to share.
