Today we interview Antón Blanco (SAP & GRC Consultant). We hope you can learn about his experience working at our company.
What is your role within Inprosec?
I currently hold the position of SAP and GRC Security Consultant. My day-to-day primarily involves maintaining GRC support for one of our clients, as well as certain related projects for the same client.
What would you highlight about your functions within the company?
The fact that I work very focused on a certain number of clients has allowed me to perform my duties with more agility, as I am very familiar with the procedures and policies they use, and I know the people inside, making it easier for me to communicate with them directly.
Another point to consider is the difference between the tools used by clients, and this makes you acquire knowledge not only of those you are dedicated to but also of many others.
What has Inprosec meant in your professional career?
I previously worked in a technological position, but of a different nature. The fact of coming to Inprosec has made me more interested in cybersecurity and everything surrounding it, something that has enriched my knowledge in other areas where I was not so comfortable, and to which I have gradually adapted.
How do you manage to reconcile personal and professional life?
I am one of those people who currently does not live in the same city where the company is based. Going to the office means an hour and a half by train, and the fact that we only have to go in two days a week saves me a lot of time, besides being able to ask for justified telework at any time, which allows me to perfectly balance personal and work life.
What do you value most about working at a company like Inprosec?
As I mentioned before, something that makes my work much easier is the possibility of teleworking. This, coupled with the good atmosphere among employees, is what I would highlight the most about the company.
Tell us an anecdote that has caught your attention in a situation in a stage in Inprosec
One of the things that struck me the most when I arrived at Inprosec was the tradition of bringing something on your birthday to the office, which I had never experienced. It’s curious to see what everyone brings when it’s their turn, we’ve had everything from sweets to homemade cakes.
As an employee of a company specializing in cybersecurity, what is your advice to any entrepreneur who is just starting out regarding their systems?
I believe that it is fundamental for a company to make its employees aware that the threats of a hack are real, and especially that they are prepared for phishing, as these are currently the most common attacks on both companies and individuals.
What are your hobbies at the end of the working day?
I am passionate about sports, both watching and playing them. During the week I usually go to the gym or run after work, and on weekends I usually go out for a few beers with friends, and if there’s a game on, even better.
On special occasions, I also like to travel to learn about other cultures; in fact, in April 2024, I already have a trip planned to the other side of the world.
