Today we interview Adolfo Rodríguez Pérez, member of our IS consulting team. We hope you get to know about his experience working at our company.

What is your role at Inprosec?

My main role at Inprosec is that of an IS Consultant. I work on various cybersecurity-related projects, as well as internal tasks to ensure compliance with the ISMS. I am also delving into the world of SAP and collaborating with the IT team in maintaining our system.

What would you highlight about your role in the company?

I would highlight the opportunity to participate in such diverse projects that directly involve the client. Thanks to this, I have gained a broad perspective on how to interact with the end user from different approaches and viewpoints.

What has Inprosec meant for your professional career?

Inprosec has represented the beginning of my professional career. During my last semester at university, I joined the IT department as an intern, and little by little, I became integrated into the team until I truly felt part of it. Thanks to Inprosec, I have learned about various areas that I previously didn’t fully appreciate, but which are now an essential part of my daily work.

How do you manage to balance personal and professional life?

From the beginning, I have greatly appreciated the ease that Inprosec offers in balancing personal and professional life. The hybrid model of remote and in-office work makes my routine more manageable while allowing me to stay connected with the team. There is also great flexibility when requesting time off, so I have never felt restricted in that regard.

What do you value most about working at a company like Inprosec?

What I value most about Inprosec is the work environment and the collaborative dynamic that is encouraged. It is made up of a professional team that is always willing to help and train those of us who, like me, joined with limited knowledge of the sector. Additionally, I have always appreciated the freedom I have been given to carry out my tasks, which has greatly enhanced my learning experience.

Tell us an anecdote that stood out to you during your time at Inprosec.

One of the funniest anecdotes I have to share happened on the day I first got to know Inprosec. Two weeks before officially joining the team, I decided to visit the office to familiarize myself with the location and meet my future colleagues. However, since it was winter—and given that Vigo is not exactly known for its dry weather—I arrived completely drenched.

To make things even more amusing, there was no one from the support team present that day, so I had to introduce myself as “the new IT intern” to a group of consultants who had little to do with IT support. Despite the unexpected situation, everyone welcomed me warmly, gave me a tour of the office, and introduced themselves with great kindness. I’m not sure if it was the best way to make a first impression, but a year later, it’s still a topic of conversation among us!

As an employee of a cybersecurity-focused company, what advice would you give to any entrepreneur starting out regarding their systems?

Regardless of the industry a company belongs to, I would recommend considering cybersecurity from the very beginning. It is a broad field and can sometimes be complex to manage, but it is essential in the digital world we live in. That is why I believe the work of specialized consultants is crucial in implementing best practices and security mechanisms that help prevent issues in the future.

What are your hobbies after the workday?

At the end of my workday, I usually take my afternoons easy, whether it’s exercising, playing video games, or doing household chores while listening to music. Additionally, I love traveling and discovering new places, as well as enjoying classic summer plans with my friends and family.

Who do you “nominate” for us to interview next and why?

I nominate Paula Callero. We joined the company at almost the same time, and she has always had a great attitude at work. I’m sure her interview will be very interesting!
