What is your role within Inprosec?
My position in the company is SAP Security & GRC Consultant. I work on different projects and services, mainly for end customers.
What would you highlight about your functions within the company?
It is difficult to highlight a single function within the company, since the work is largely very varied, being a basic and essential aspect for me. Mainly, I highlight the SAP security area, where I have the opportunity to work for a very important client within the company. My role allows me to reinforce and apply the basics of SAP Security and SAP GRC, increase communication skills and empathy with different national and international clients and become a more complete consultant day by day.
What has Inprosec meant in your professional career?
Inprosec has a great importance in my professional career, since it has allowed me to enter a very specialized sector such as SAP Security and also to change profession. Previously, I worked as an HR technician in an important multinational, something completely different from my current role. It has allowed me to reorient myself professionally, constantly training myself and offering very interesting projects.
How do you manage to reconcile personal and professional life?
That’s a very good question. Inprosec offers you a lot of flexibility when it comes to telecommuting, without affecting the professional interaction between colleagues. The current format, which combines face-to-face work and teleworking, allows me to have a little more free time, making the different personal and family tasks during the week more bearable. Nowadays, companies in the sector place great value on the employee’s personal and family reconciliation, and Inprosec is not lagging behind in this respect.
Tell us an anecdote that has caught your attention in a situation in a stage in Inprosec
When I started in the company, very few people attended in person due to COVID-19, so I highlight the 10th anniversary of the company with a visit to the Cíes. It was a fantastic experience, where I was able to put faces to many of my colleagues in the department, have relaxed conversations with many of them, get to know the Cíes in its most natural version… The experience was very fun and enriching.
What do you value most about working at a company like Inprosec?
I would highlight several. Inprosec is a young, modern company, specialized in the SAP cybersecurity and information security sector, with modern reconciliation policies, a very good working environment, a high level of internal procedures, professional development policies, continuous training and many others… It is a perfect place for all those who come from more traditional companies or who are starting out in the labor market.
If I have to highlight something, I would highlight the professional development offered by the company, which is periodically supervised and guided by our direct managers.
As an employee of a company specializing in cybersecurity, what is your advice to any entrepreneur who is just starting out regarding their systems?
I have seen firsthand that the cybersecurity market is moving very fast and is updated regularly. SAP is where I have the most visibility of this aspect. A good policy of security, parameterization, control and maintenance of SAP systems allows to reduce costs in the medium term, in addition to reducing the problems originated in the tools and that can affect the daily operations of the business.
What are your hobbies at the end of the working day?
Whenever I can, I really enjoy outdoor activities such as surfing, running, cycling, paddle tennis, having a drink with my friends… I always try to disconnect digitally and move around, which allows me to face the next day better.
Who do you “nominate” for us to interview next and why?
I nominate my colleague Iban Morillo, who I’m sure will bring interesting things as head of InprOTech.
