“The Ministry of Home Affairs has detected that in the last year the attacks on critical infrastructures of the state have grown by 106%. (energy, water, communications, transportation and financial entities)
This increase is the result of a better detection of cyber criminals who try to act against information systems which control those infrastructures.
Another relevant incidents detected are attempts to introduce malware into these computer systems. The attempts have rose from 1,754 in 2014 to 15,177 in the last year.
As this type of cyber crimes are becoming more common – 60.00 in the last year- the National Police are currently devoting the efforts of a complete unit with the support of the Civil Guard to fight cibercriminals”
